Three Year Anniversary

So today is Boyfriend and I's three year anniversary! I can't believe we've been together this long ♥ He planned the entire night so every thing was a surprise : )

We started the night off with dinner at Applebee's in Adrian. Last time we were there (back in April this year) they told us about their remodel that they were going to be starting. Unfortunately, Boyfriend and I totally forgot about this :( But luckily today was their grand opening! YAY! But they were also very busy because of this. If you go to Applebee's and know what the decor looks like, they got rid of all the wood over the bar, all of the sport/random stuff on the walls, and opened it up more. They also did some sprucing up on the outside of the building.

Anywho...I ended up ordering their delicious Steakhouse Burger with A.1. Steak Sauce. I'm a picky eater so I ordered it without the pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes.

After dinner we headed over to The Spotted Cow for ice cream. It's my second favorite place to get ice cream. #1 being Temptations in Grand Haven.

It's such a cute ice cream shop. The inside is all done in black, pink, purple, and lime green. There are cow spots all over. And cute 50's style booths lined up along the walls. They also have local sport team gear on the walls along with fun facts about ice cream!

The only thing I don't really like is that they have sssoooooo many choices! It's overwhelming trying to decide what flavor to get.

And those are just some of the options!

I ended up choosing the Peanut Butter Overload Flurry. It had vanilla ice cream, peanut butter cups, Butterfinger pieces, and Reese's pieces. So yummy!

Then when we got back home he gave me my gift : ) I unfortunately don't have a job so I was unable to get him anything. But I know that my love is enough for him ♥

This is what he got me...

It's a $200 gift card to Best Buy : ) Which I'm planning on buying the Canon 60D so this will definitely help out. It's so sweet of him to get me this. He knew that I was planning on getting it with my refund money but I would still need an extra $400 maybe in order to get it. This is why I love him ♥

And now we are watching the Grey's Anatomy season finale together.

Best. Night. Ever.

Awkward & Awesome

Awkward
-Every time I open my bedroom door to let my cat in she meows and runs in at the same time. It's so cute!
-One of my photography teachers sings randomly throughout the class...I just want him to stop.
-It's been about a week since I've seen sunshine. Come on summer!!!
-My cell phone likes to change my ring tone for me sometimes. I guess it's trying to tell me something...haha.

Awesome
-Today is Boyfriend an I's three year anniversary! He has something planned but I have no idea what it is...I'm excited!
-I've lost 2 lbs. since Sunday. Which doesn't seem like a lot but to me it is : )
-Three more days until I get my refund money!!!
-Cap'n Crunch's Peanut Butter Crunch cereal! When I heard it was getting pulled off the shelves I about died but then I found out it was just a rumor : ) I bought two huge boxes just in case though...

Awkward & Awesome

Awkward
- I posed all of this yesterday but blogger is having issues and ate it :(
- I have three spider bites on my upper thigh. I think he was trying to get to my butt...
- Monday my GPS wanted me to turn on a road that didn't exist. After 'missing' the road it proceeded to tell me to "make a legal u-turn when possible". Let me inform you that it was dark and I had no idea where I was. Great!
- Thursday in my photography class we had an hour to go around campus and take pictures of textures (like the photo above). At first it was awkward going around and taking pictures of things like grass but then I got the hang of what exactly I was looking for and it started getting interesting.

Awesome
- I get my refund on the 23rd which means I can finally go out and buy a SLR camera! I have this old Kodak digital one so I think it's time for an upgrade.
- My photography classes!
- I've already made a new friend in one of them : ) I have like no friends down here so it's kind of a big deal.
- I've finally figured out a schedule for working out. I haven't been able to go in forever because of all the craziness that has been going on lately. I'm excited to jump start my weight loss though!

Grand Haven Adventures: Part 3

Before leaving Grand Haven, boyfriend and I headed down to the beach one last time. It's rainy days like these that make me wish I lived up there. Maybe in a couple years I will...

I should also tell you guys that this is my first week back to college so I might not be blogging as much for a couple weeks. On Mondays and Wednesdays I have class from noon to 10pm and it's an hour drive home haha. So not much time left for blogging. Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and were able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather : )

Tulip Time Festival

Sunday, the four of us had an amazing day in downtown Holland for their Tulip Time Festival. I've been wanting to go here for a while now and was so happy that the sun was out so that we could actually enjoy the day. The main reason I wanted to go was so I could see Windmill Island. It was so cute. A little Dutch village, small carousel, conservatory, delicious fudge, and people walking around in wooden shoes!

The best part had to be the windmill. I was so excited to go up and see everything! I didn't know there were so many floors to it though. You could take a tour of the windmill and on each floor they would talk about something new. I think there was six total. I knew it was a working windmill but I didn't know that they actually use it to make flour. It was really interesting to hear about it and how it was brought over here in the 1960's by boat. It originally took 6 years to build it but only 6 months to put it back together in Holland! They actually put roman numerals on some of the boards so it was easier for them.

And of course, the field of tulips was gorgeous as well! There were so many of them : )

These ones were my favorite. Love the mix of purple and light pink : )

Afterward, we headed downtown to see all the cute shops and eat some food. I was so excited when I saw that they had elephant ears! I love those things. It was really busy so we didn't stay long. I definitely want to go back there soon though.

Grand Haven Adventures: Part 2

Today was another gorgeous day in Grand Haven. We woke up nice and early to go to the Tulip Time Festival in Holland (a cute dutch town south of GH) but first we headed over to Five Mile Hill to see the best view of Grand Haven. It's said that standing on top of this hill, on a clear day, you can see for five miles. When I first read about this hill on Tieka's blog, I knew one day I would have to go and see it myself.

We came here the day before and totally forgot to get pictures. And for some reason I went all the down this crazy hill. (In the fist picture, its where the arrow is pointing to.) I wasn't thinking about it while going down the hill but let me tell ya, I totally regretted going all the way down. Because on the climb back up, I thought I was going to die. haha.

the arrow is pointing at where I was before going down the hill
Yeah...never again. But the view from the top was absolutely gorgeous!

Tulip Time Festival post coming tomorrow!

Grand Haven Adventures

This weekend boyfriend and I decided to drive up to Grand Haven, MI to visit my sister and her boyfriend. The first time I came up here there was snow on the ground, so it wasn't much fun. But today was such a gorgeous day, I'm so glad it didn't rain! Boyfriend, my sister, her boyfriend, and I all ventured out to the pier to enjoy the view.

It was a bit windy...and cold...but it was totally worth it. I mean isn't it gorgeous?

After a nice scouting of the town, we came back home, grilled some hot dogs, then ventured out again and went to Temptations. If you follow Tieka from Selective Potential then you know all about this place. But if you don't, I have to tell you...it was the best ice cream I have ever had in my life. And I'm a avid ice cream eater. All of their ice cream is homemade and it just tastes so yummy! It was a hard decision but I ended up getting their peanut butter cup ice cream in a waffle cone. If you are ever in Grand Haven you have to go there : )

What's Your Number?

A while ago I posted a list of movies that I can't wait to see this year and while looking through the list on movieinsider.com again I came across this one. I thought I would share the amazingness with every one!

via
It's a movie about a girl that comes across a magazine article saying that most women who have slept with 20 men will never marry. Having already hit that number she decides to stop sleeping with men until she finds "the one". She ends up tracking down the guys who she has previously been with in hopes that she overlooked one that could be "the one". Of course it seems obvious in the previews that she is going to end up with the really cute neighbor but I still can't wait until it comes out

-Michigan's attempt for 'spring like' weather. It looks gorgeous outside yet its only like 45 degrees... : (
-Next week I'll be taking my first photography class. Which is both awkward and awesome!

-The mountain of laundry that I haven't been able to make myself do for the past three days. I really need to get on that....

Awesome

We are planning on going to Holland for their Tulip Festival but we will have to wait and see how the weather is going to be.
